Resample
Function Description
The Feature Editing group on the Features tab provides functions for processing the boundaries of lines or regions, primarily for resampling and smoothing the boundaries of lines or regions.
When there are too many nodes on the boundary of a line or region, you can use the Resample button to perform resampling, removing some nodes while trying to preserve the shape of the line.
- The controls in the Feature Editing group are only available when there are selected geometries (lines and regions) in an editable layer in the map.
- For the principles of resampling and an explanation of the results, please refer to: Line Object Resampling Description.
- When resampling parameterized curves (such as arcs, free curves, Bezier curves, B-splines, etc.), the curves will first be converted into line segments, and then the converted line segments will be resampled. Note: In CAD datasets, parameterized curves do not support resampling.
Function Entry
- Features Tab -> Feature Editing Group -> Resample.
- Image Mosaic Tab -> Feature Editing Group -> Resample.
Operation Instructions
- Set the layer containing the geometries (lines or regions) to be resampled in the map to an editable state.
- Select the geometries (lines or regions) to be resampled. You can hold down the Shift or Ctrl key to select multiple geometries at once.
- In the Gallery control of the Feature Editing group on the Features tab, click the Resample button to open the Resampling Settings dialog box.
- In the drop-down box for the resampling method, select an appropriate resampling method, and enter the tolerance value in the text box to the right of Sampling Tolerance. The default value is 0.4. Apply this method to resample the lines or regions.
- To resample geometries in other layers in the map, repeat steps 1 to 4 above.
- Click the OK button to perform the resampling operation on the selected geometries.
Note:When multi-layer editing is enabled, users can select multiple lines and regions from multiple editable layers at the same time to perform resampling operations.
