Multiple visibility analysis

Multiple visibility analysis is an analysis method for continuously analyzing visibility and non-visibility in multiple specified ranges based on a certain observation point and its attributes (position, orientation, observation radius, etc.) in a 3D scene. The visible view is the set of all visible points within the specified range based on the observation point, and the invisible view is the set of all invisible points within the specified range based on the observation point, which can be identified by different colors.

Multi-Viewshed analysis works with fine city models and oblique photographic 3D model data.

Multiple visibility analysis can be widely used in planning sightseeing routes, setting security monitoring points, setting disaster monitoring points, avoiding detection radar blind areas and so on.

Operating steps

  1. Click 3D Analysis - Viewshed Analysis to switch to the Viewshed Analysis Settings panel.
  2. Check Multiple Views to switch to the Multiple Views Settings panel
  3. Click Analyze , click the left mouse button to pick observation points in the 3D scene, and then move the mouse to set the viewing distance. After selecting the distance, click the left mouse button to determine the scope of viewing analysis. Repeat the above steps until you get the desired result.
  4. The results of multi-visibility analysis are shown in the figure below.
  5. After the analysis is completed, any analysis results can be cleared through the Visual Field Management Panel. Click Clear to clear all analysis results from the 3D scene.
